Bliv opdateret på EU-designpraksis, når Patent- og Varemærkestyrelsen i samarbejde med EUIPO afholder EU Design Update. Kurset afholdes på engelsk.

During this course, Ms. Marisa Aranda Sales, IP specialist at EUIPO Legal Affairs Department, will present recent design decisions from the Boards of Appeal and the General Court.

You will also learn about the most significant changes resulting from the EU design legislative reform. This includes changes in definitions of “design” and “product” and a new repair clause

Finally, you will be presented with procedural changes at the EUIPO resulting from the reform which can affect you or your clients.

Speaker

Marisa Aranda Sales

Marisa is an IP specialist at the EUIPO Legal Affairs Department with experience in designs, trademarks and geographical indications. She is also an accredited mediator.

She is a member of the Knowledge Circle Designs, contributing to the implementation of recent legislative changes in the Office Guidelines and representing the KC in different working groups and virtual communities.

Before joining EUIPO in 2017, she gained a decade of IP experience across the biomedical research sector, academia, and law firms in Spain and China. She holds a PhD in IP Law and an LL.M. from MIPLC and Lund University.

Dorte Hummelshøj Højland

Dorte is Principle Legal Adviser in the Trademark & Design Department at the Danish Patent and Trademark Office.

Dorte has worked as a trademark and design examiner for six years and she is responsible for the DKPTO's educational and network activities in relation to design.

Prior to her position at the DKPTO, Dorte worked as a lawyer in a private practice. Here, Dorte provided legal advice in relation to company law and bankruptcy proceedings.
